    radion x1650 HELP!!!

    Hey all,

I got a new vid card for my pc. We have an acer wide screen lcd. When I installed it, it boots and goes into windows login, but once booted the screen goes blank. Then "input out of range" appears.

I think the refresh rate of the card is too fast for my monitor, which needs 60Hz. I would set it to 60Hz, but I can't see anything! Booting in safe mode only shows a generic vga adapter, and their "catalyst control suite" program won't open in safe mode. Any changes made in safe mode are changed back when rebooted.
    This is AGP, not PCIE.
I tried a CRT, and another LCD. Same thing.
Can anyone help me? I am owned by ATI.

boot into safe mode and then set the video to the lowest setting and the 60Hz rate. To do this hit F8 when Windows starts to boot.

Tried that. It only shows some generic vga adapter while in safe mode, and any changes made there are undone when it reboots into normal mode.

And I did uninstall my old card and other files as directed by the ATI web site.

I had on older radeon b4 this one.

it should not undo any of the changes that you make while in safe mode.

Try going into safe mode and then uninstalling everything related to the video card. Once you have done that then power off the machine, wait 30 seconds and then power back up and see if you can get in and install the video card drivers or goto the Advanced menu and set the refresh rate for the LCD.

Tried all of that. While in safe mode, under the advanced tab, you can only select between "adapter default settings" and "adapter default settings".

Load the drivers for the card in safe mode. Using the installation disk provided.
