    96 Cobra Coupe

    $6,500

Black with tan leather interior, 5-speed. 122,xxx miles. Above average condition for its age. Hand-built DOHC engine comes from the factory with the forged crank and sought-after Teskid aluminum block. Last dyno’d at about 295 hp/295 ft-lbs to the wheels. Took it to the track just twice and ran 13.7s 101-102 mph (lots left in it) before the rebuilt tranny/flywheel/clutch/tires.

I’ve owned it since 2003, synthetic oil changes every 3K, no winters. Ready to drag race, autocross or track. Or slap on a blower and get it easily up over 400 to the wheels. Send me an email at thom1301 at tc.umn.edu.

Bump for price drop and pics. I used the clay bar, polished, and waxed.

A number of things really. I can't really afford to keep modifying it (blower or turbo, built engine, etc) and for me that takes away a lo of the fun. I also live downtown in a condo, so managing the second car logistically is always a headache. Ive tried drag racing and autocross, but never got hooked. I used to love street racing, but i never did much with this car (cobra is much faster than my old car),and it seems like a worse idea at 29 than it did at 22! All the little reasons just add up.

Can you tell I'm still trying to convince myself I wanna sell it?

I hear that. I lost interest as well. And I'll be 32 in less than a month. I worked on my car from 1998-2007. Then one day, I parked it and haven't driven it since. Been two years since I drove it last. I think it's an age thing. Older I get, the less I want to work/modify on shit. Unless you're a true gearhead, it's hard to stay interested.

It must be an age thing.. I turn 30 soon. And my life revolved around cars for probably the past 14 years.. I dont know if its a money thing for me, or just getting bored with it. I just want a nice car to drive year round that is still fun to drive and Im not always working on it. A warranty would be nice too.

Good luck with the sale! Seems like a good price!

I'd say money and time. I cherish my free time more than ever now. And the last thing I want to do is work on anything. I don't even like doing an oil change now, but I still do them.

That's why I bought my Toyota. It's about as fast as my Mustang from a dig, but will do 130 mph all day long if I get the balls to push it that far, it rides nicer, it gets about the same mileage, it's quieter and has a much nicer stereo. That's enough for me.

But if I were say, 21 again? I'd look at this cobra. I know it's damn nice for this price.
