I don't get the whole starter thing. Get what you want. As long as you are responsible and somewhat athletic and sharp you'll be fine on anything not boosted.

Personally I'd get a dual terrain and I like the 250 ninja. Still cruise just fine and get 75 mpg. can't hate that. Not as likely to get tickets either.

If it's a massive fucking bike, and you shift your weight wrong waiting at a stoplight, you're dumping it. If it's a 600 rocket, and you're a big guy, even if you shift it wrong, you should be able to save it.

The wife has a Yami and it feels a little taller but has a lower seat height. It is a 650 and I would not recommend it for freeway or tall people. The Yami V-stars do have almost no depreciation after the first year.

as much as i hate the V-star 650s for everything they are and what they've done to the scene.. they are probably the best cheap pos jap cruiser out there for the money.

I thought Spiral had the same idea a couple of years ago. Bought the bike and then got cut off and decided to sell it.

Get a good helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. It will save your ass when you go down.
