We pulled 2 samples every mile or so. One we field tested at the site as we were adding latex (yes that latex) to the hot mix. The second core was collected and handed over to the Texas DOT. I don't know the specifics of why, I didn't work on the road crew, I was contracted by them to setup and calibrate the asphalt plant.
So if you're ever on I10 west of Balmarhea Texas, I had a slight hand in that road
