get a pro5.0 but get it from konaracing.com... They have a different steel handle to connect to the pro5.0 base so it is not such a reach to 1st, 3rd and OD. Not anymore expensive then the regular pro5.0 and they send you the regular pro5.0 handle with it too if you like that one better.

STOCK
And I like it! In the limited amount of drag runs and autocross I have never had a problem with it, not even the dreaded 2nd to 3rd shift that everyone talks about. It would take some really good convincing to have me spend the money for a new shifter when the one that is in there works just fine.Originally posted by NickThe choice is easy.

My transmission works just fine. It has not been wrecked by the stock shifter in 130K of driving. However, I arguably use the car just enough for competition purposes to warrant the need for extra protection. A shifter does cost less than a transmission, so you do have a good argument there.Originally posted by 94TurboGTwhat about the safety of the adjustable stops on aftermarket shifters.Originally posted by NickThe choice is easy.

Stock here as well. Had a Hurst and HATED it...missed many shifts with that p.o.s. Never missed a shift with the stocker. I also run a Pro 5.0 short handle so I get the best of both worlds; short throws and no missed shifts. I've also taken out a few T-5's when I had the Hurst.
Jesse H (Vibrant93) also swears by the stock shifter. He's gone into the 11's with and his T5 is still holding up after like 4 or 5 years of beating the piss outta it.
FWIW, with the short handle my stocker feels and shifts identical to the Hurst.'93 LX...bolt ons and an IRS
