Bob is really good. I had a blast following him, watching him bang curbs and drift around corners. He sure was wheeling that old bird hard to stay in front.

As far as racing...There is nothing anyone could have told me that would have prepared me for it. It is nothing like open track. It's more like a 30 minute fight than a track session. What a rush.

I never once thought about braking points, turn-ins, shift points or flags. It all has to be automatic. All I thought about was what I could do to get by the person in front of me while keeping an eye out for a viper dive bombing in a corner.

You really get to see how much of it is the driver, not the car.

Exaclty why I'm alway compelled to correct people when they refer to lapping as "racing". Until you take a green flag and go door to door you can't really appreciate the difference.

      A rush is right!

This was my first race. On rolling starts the CMC cars are all mixed in with other classes. There are 4 CMC cars somewhere behind me and this race basically became about keeping a 10 second buffer between myself and them (radios are awesome).

Nice job! You kept your composure on the start - even gain position on the Viper :-)

Was this a school race or a very short sprint race?

I've never been to Gateway but it seems big enough to have a good road course.

This was the start of a sprint race. We were black flagged becuase a legend car made it self part of the wall. We went out after a 20 minute clean up to finish the race. GIR is pretty cool. I liked running the oval.
