    Plug in On AOD trans - Can you run it without plugging it in ???

    Someone wants to pick up a AOD from my 86 & was wondering if They needed to hook up the 2 wires that plug into the trans of not..?


    I cant remember if it was connected while in my 86 when i pulled it - I dont think it was

    351W into Fox needed:

    7qt oil pan , Billet Dizzy/Ignition , 1 7/8'' headers for TFS R heads , adjustable Tubular rear suspension & parts , Roll cage , 8+ gallon fuel cel / lines, ect..

    TFS R heads off of 420ci engine

    common sence should say that the wires should be hooked up for the trans to perform correctly.

      Not on an AOD, it fully mechanical, this is why incorrect TV adjustments burn them up.

      The plug on top is for the neutral safety switch if I remember right. If this is bypassed you wont need to plug it in.

      Common sense doesnt always apply in mechanics

            well when ever i have done swaps i always try to keep safety in mind and hook up everything that should be hooked up. just saying.
