Any good paint shops near Crystal, MN???

    Hello,

I have a '65 Mustang Coupe with original paint (in rough condition) that I'm looking to get painted. I'm a die-hard Texas Longhorns fans (see picture below), so I want to have it repainted black with two burnt orange rally stripes. I have talked to several of my buddies parents who own muscle/classic cars, and all of their paint connections have since retired...I live in Crystal, MN and am wondering if anyone can recommend a few good paint shops in the area. Painters and welders seem to be two professions where you are hard pressed to find a good one!

    Thanks in advance!

I had great luck with Thomas auto body next to Big Louis on broadway. I have some pics of my old daily they did a complete repaint on the pass side I'll try to find.

I've been to Crystal Lake Automotive a few times and they do a lot of older classics like yours.

Otherwise, Bighley Auto Body used to be a sponsor here, but they're a bit of a drive if that's what's important to you.

I know another guy too but by name more than the shop, also not in Crystal.

It's great that you're a Longhorns fan. Are you truly sure you want to do that paint scheme on the car just for that reason? What color is the interior? Looks like a red. Close toorange but then you'll need to get it reupholstered too in order to look right, maybe a baseball glove orangeish kind of leather. Think it through before you committ to it. It looks decent and probably does need a paint job but maybe a nice pearl white to keep it a bit simpler. A very nice looking original car BTW

Just read your new member post. Looks like a beige interior that's really nice. Definitely not the right color to go with a black/red stripe combo. Welcome.

The interior is baseball glove beige and in really good shape for being 50-years old. I'm pretty set on my color scheme as I want something different and to pay homage to the car being from Texas. As of now I plan to leave the interior as is.

Thank you all for the replies, I now have several shops to get estimates from!

Lake Marion Collision is by far the best in my opinion. In Lakeville though. They've done several vehicles for me.
